Late Service Call Saves Third Shift from Downtime


A customer who manufactures industrial fabric had the Oxidizer in their facility fail at 4:00 PM. Without the Oxidizer, none of their coating lines are able to run. And coating is an important part of their manufacturing process.

Their maintenance manager called BSC Industries looking for help. Via phone support, it was determined that the 100 HP drive for the Oxidizer was likely the source of the failure. The customer did not have a spare unit and the manufacturer of the failed drive was no longer in business.

BSC Industries had a 100 HP Nidec M400 drive available at the Providence warehouse which was delivered to the customer by 6:00 PM. Bill Sweeney (pictured right), BSC Industries field service personnel, worked into the night to remove the failed drive, design, program and install the new drive into the system. The customer was up and running in time for the third shift.
