Prick punches are drop forged, heat treated, quenched and tempered carbon steel construction. Available in 3/8 in and 1/2 in stock sizes. These are special purpose hand tools with a cutting point designed for marking or starting holes in metal or other material softer that itself when struck with a hammer. The prick punch typically has a sharper point than the center punch.
