Browning® offers a comprehensive line of off the shelf gears, including spur, miter and bevel as well as change gears. These are available in 20 deg pressure angle from 20 to 4 diametral pitch and 14.5 deg pressure angle from 48 to 3 diametral pitch. They are all designed to increase output, reduce costs and avoid the need for custom specials.

• Bevel and miter gears develop axial thrust and adequate bearing support must be provided
• Adequate bearing support must be provided
• Miter gears must be run in sets of two or more gears with the same pitch, pressure angle and number of teeth
• Spiral bevel and miter gears have continuous pitch line contact and are smoother and quieter than straight tooth gears
• Spiral bevel and miter gears must be run in sets of mating gears with opposite hand spiral
• Used for transmission of power of motion between 90 deg intersecting shafts
• Spiral bevel and miter gears are hardened for longer life
• Hardened teeth
