For extremely accurate belt tension measuring, the Gates® Sonic Tension Meter is an electronic device that measures the natural frequency of a free stationary belt span and instantly computes the static belt tension based upon the belt span length, belt width and belt type. The Sonic Tension Meter can be used with synchronous and V-belts. Other features include output readings can be switched between pounds, kilograms, newtons and hertz. Auto gain control automatically adjusts meter sensitivity. Auto frequency range filters for background noise.
