From Bearings Specialty Company to BSC Industries. What began in a warehouse in Boston in 1919, was transformed by an ambitious WWII hero in the 1960s, and lives on today as a family legacy built on hard work and a desire to anticipate and exceed the needs of our customers.

1919: The Fischel family opens the Bearings Specialty Company in Boston, MA, supplying WWI surplus bearings to machine shops and industrial firms

1944: First Lieutenant James J. Fitzpatrick lands at Utah Beach as part of the Normandy invasion during WWII; his service earned him the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and a Battlefield Commission

1962: Bearings Specialty Company ownership transfers to James J. Fitzpatrick and Peter Boyle

1960s: Product offering expands to include power transmission products

1960s: Locations opened in VT and ME

1970s: Product offering expands to include motors and drives; locations opened in NH and Worcester, MA

1980s: Linear motion and motion control products now offered; location in western MA opened

1990: James J. Fitzpatrick is honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual BSA Convention

1992: Company ownership transfers to James' sons, Peter and Jim

1995: Company headquarters are established in Canton, MA

1996-1999: Product lines expand to include electrical, automation, and pneumatic products

2000s: Company acquires Machine Parts with branch locations in CT and RI

2000s: A Class 10,000 Clean Room/Relubrication Center established in Canton, MA

2000s: Integrated Control Systems added in RI location as part of the core offerings

2016: Bearings Specialty Company changes its name to BSC Industries, Inc.

2017: President Jim Fitzpatrick receives the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual BSA Convention

2019: The company celebrates its 100th anniversary
